2017 CAI Goldman Memorial Scholarship Winners

Community Action, Inc. (CAI) is pleased to offer up to 3 Goldman Memorial Scholarships this year, each in the amount of $1,000 to residents who meet the scholarship criteria. The scholarships will be offered to 1 High School Graduate/Graduating Senior, 1 HiSET Recipient and 1 Post-Secondary Student.

The Scholarships are named after Gerald Goldman, the Executive Director of Community Action, who passed away in 1995. Community Action presents these scholarships in his honor.

Eligibility, service area and income guidelines

No income requirements. Students residing in the following Massachusetts cities and towns are eligible to apply: Amesbury, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury and West Newbury

  • Applicants must supply proof of their enrollment in a full-time college program and/or demonstrate in writing their acceptance in a college program.
  • In addition, applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher or professor, and complete a 200 – 500 word essay. Essays should demonstrate how education will further the principles of Gerald Goldman in their life and how they plan to advance these principles using their education.

Applications for Goldman Memorial Scholarships are accepted during the January-May timeframe of each year. Please download applications and view application timeframe below. 


The Application deadline is Monday, April 16, 2018.
