Payroll Bookkeeper

Community Action, Inc. has an opening for a Payroll Bookkeeper. Responsibilities include processing weekly timesheets, auditing for accuracy and ensuring supervisor approval for payment, assisting with data entry into MIP accounting system and maintaining personnel files. Requires general bookkeeping knowledge, strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, must be detail-oriented and possess critical thinking and reasoning skills, be dependable, work independently and with a group when necessary, handle confidential information, possess a solid knowledge of wage and hour laws and an understanding of payroll processing and calculations.

Position requires an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and two years of experience in payroll. Non-profit experience preferred. Position is 35 hrs/wk., minimum starting salary: $16.93, w/excellent benefit package.
