Programs & Services

 

CAI Programs serve the following areas: Amesbury, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury, and West Newbury.

Some CAI programs also serve: Beverly, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Ipswich, Lawrence, Manchester, Rockport, Topsfield and Wenham.

 

 

Community Services

Working with clients to solve problems and provide access to resources to help the client and the client's family become self-sufficient

 

Consumer Services

Provide information on Consumer rights and to mediate disputes between consumers and merchants. North Essex Mediators provides face-to-face mediation services for residents of Essex County.

 

Energy Programs

Providing low-income households with paying heating and utility bills and providing heating system repair and replacement services for low-income households.

 

Family & Community Connection

Support and access to resources for families with children 0-8 years of age in the Haverhill, Newburyport and surrounding areas.

 

Family Day Care

Access for income-eligible families to Family Child Care options and comprehensive services for children ages 8 weeks - 12 years old in the greater Haverhill area and surrounding areas.

 

Head Start / Early Head Start (children 0-5)

Comprehensive services for children ages 0-5 and pregnant mothers and fathers. Center-based and Home-based options are available in the Haverhill and Newburyport areas.

 

Housing Development

First Time Home Buyer Workshops – Affordable Housing lottery and development programs – CAI Rental Management

 

 

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

IRS sponsored VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program which offers free tax help to low-to moderate-income people (generally, $49,000 and below).

 

 

WIC- Women, Infants, & Children Nutrition

The Massachusetts Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program provides nutrition and health education and other services free of charge to Massachusetts families who qualify.

 

 

Community action, inc. is a private non-profit organization established in 1965 to address the causes and consequences of poverty in the greater haverhill, amesbury and newburyport areas.
